On the occasion of World Clean Up Day, September 21, 2019, the Label’Vie group organized a vast waste collection operation on the beaches of Rabat, Casablanca, Tangier and Nador. This initiative was part of the “Clean Beaches” program and the “#b7arblaplastic” initiative initiated by the Mohammed VI Foundation for the protection of the environment. Many local associations joined this action on the different beaches of the Kingdom.
In 2018, The Label’Vie Group participated for the first time in the global day of cleaning up our planet, the World Clean Up Day. The mission of World Clean Up Day is also and above all to raise awareness about the proliferation of litter, to provoke a sense of responsibility about the impact of the nuisances this causes today and the consequences of this environmental pollution.
Thanks to the mobilization of its employees around these environmental issues, and in collaboration with the association “Tous pour Harhoura”, the Group was able to collect last year nearly half a ton of waste on the beach of Harhoura, near Rabat.
In 2019, Label’Vie wanted to go even further. The Group organized, in collaboration with the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Environment, a vast clean-up operation in 4 beaches in the country: Salé, Sidi Rahal (Casablanca), Dalia (Tangier), and Arekman (Nador).
This awareness and cleaning operation was the result of a collaboration between a number of associations and economic partners to organize awareness activities and cleaning operations on the different beaches. Thanks to the support and work of the Tanger Med (Dalia beach) and Banque Populaires foundations (Sidi Rahal and Arekman beaches), the involvement of many associations and companies (al Marjane association, WebHelp in Salé), the enthusiasm and seriousness of school children in the regions concerned as well as the youth network of the Young International Chamber of Morocco, 8 tons of waste were collected in less than half a day by nearly 400 volunteers.
All in all, on this World Environment Day, nearly 19 million people in 179 countries organized awareness-raising and cleaning operations. The Label’Vie Group and its employees are proud to have participated in this international event and to have reiterated their commitment to the protection of our environment.
